Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Roller Coaster Coming to Universal Studios Florida

Universal Orlando Resort has just confirmed what many theme park fans have been anticipating: a brand-new high-speed roller coaster is on the way to Universal Studios Florida. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida is scheduled to open in 2027, taking over the site formerly occupied by the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster.

The new coaster will be built on the site of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction, which closed in August 2025 after 16 years of operation. At the same time, Universal also announced that the existing Fast & Furious – Supercharged dark ride will close permanently in 2027, making way for Hollywood Drift and a streamlined franchise presence throughout the parks.
