Disney has just pulled back the curtain on its first nightly Magic Kingdom parade in nearly a decade and it's looking magical already.

"Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" hits the streets on 20 July 2025, with a dazzling line-up of illuminated floats, character animation and a brand-new original cast member.
A full-length preview of the show was recently recorded during a cast member dress rehearsal and is now circulating widely online giving fans their first real glimpse of how the magic comes together at night.
✨ Disney Starlight Parade: What’s Coming to Magic Kingdom
This summer marks the arrival of Magic Kingdom’s first regular nighttime parade since 2016! The Disney Starlight Parade will feature glowing floats inspired by Encanto, Frozen, Moana, Coco, Wish, Peter Pan, and classic Disney Princesses all culminating in a spectacular finale.
Initial reactions to the preview footage show strong support from guests who praised its use of lighting, energy, and the way it fills the gap left by SpectroMagic and Main Street Electrical Parade.
🔍 First Look at Floats & Characters
Recent behind-the-scenes reveals and concept art gave fans their first peek at the new parade elements and the YouTube preview confirms many of these designs in action.
Highlights include:
Encanto float featuring the Miracle Candle and glowing flowers
Moana boat float with 50,000-pixel illuminated waves and UV sail details
Wish tree float showcasing bright, whimsical design
Grand finale “Whimsy” train float, led by an original starlight locomotive character and featuring sections themed to Mickey, Aladdin, Snow White and more
These floats glow brilliantly on camera and seem designed for maximum visual impact from both curbside and overhead perspectives.

🧚 Character Animation & Costumes
The Disney Starlight Parade includes animated effects like Jiminy Cricket, serving as a nostalgic nod to the much-loved SpectroMagic parade. Costumes are decked out in LED lighting with galaxy-inspired prints, created in the whimsical style of Mary Blair, designed to shine while staying lightweight and dancer-friendly.
Footage from the full show also reveals enhanced motion in character animation, plus new choreography designed to work across multiple viewing angles, something Disney fans have been eager to see return in a nighttime show.
🎬 Tech, Timing & Experience
Debut Date: 20 July 2025
Showtimes: Every night at 9 pm and 11 pm, excluding nights with separately ticketed events

A mix of beloved characters and brand-new storytelling
Dual showings make it easier to catch (or avoid the biggest crowds!)

How exciting it is to be finally getting a nighttime parade back at Magic Kingdom which leads me on to a little easter egg to parades gone by as we learned in the show that some of the music we will hear in Disney Starlight is inspired by both the SpectroMagic and Main Street Electrical Parade.
